Class Descriptions

Ballet : Learn the classical art of ballet from professionally trained instructors. Our classes inspire the love of movement  through graduated levels designed to teach awareness and respect for the body. We emphasize careful technical training that will enhance all physical endeavors are welcome all ages and levels, beginning to  professional, regardless of previous training. We strive to nurture the desire to move joyfully and enrich the lives of our students. All students will be placed in the correct class as determined by the instructor.  

 

Dress Code

Ages 3 - 7

Ballet shoes, leotard and tights. No color preference 

Ages 8+

Ballet shoes, black leotard and tights. Hair in a bun, tightly secured

Tap :  An exciting rhythmic exercise and dance form which is enjoyable to both kids and adults. The classes stress the basics of tap and build into combinations which are great to watch and delightful to hear.

 

Dress Code

Tap shoes required. Tight dance clothes. No color preference. 

Leaps and Turns : Leaps and Turns is a specialty class designed to teach proper technique for turns (chaines, pirouettes, piques, axels, etc.) We recommend this class be taken along with a students regular dance class but not in place of their dance class.

 

Dress Code

Tight dance clothes. No T-shirts. Tank tops, sports bra, leggings, shorts recommended. No color preference.

Jazz shoes highly recommended.

Conditioning & Stretching : Even the best sense of rhythm, the most careful technical training, and the most astute dance intuition are not enough to make a dancer truly excel; you also need focused strength, balance, and flexibility to execute the movements with power and grace. Conditioning for Dance improves your technique and performance in all dance forms by strengthening the body’s core (abdominal and back muscles) while improving coordination, balance, and alignment and optimizing flexibility. The result is more lift without tension, deeper pliés, higher jumps with less effort, tighter turns, and improved extension and turnout. 

 

Dress Code

Tight dance clothes. No T-shirts. No color preference. Please bring tennis shoes to this class. 

Hip hop :Get pumped up in Hip Hop learning the hottest new dance moves from your favorite hip hop/rnb/pop music film clips and original choreography. Hip Hop encompasses movement that has elements of poppin’, locking, and breaking as well as freestyle movement to give students the opportunity to develop their own sense of style. The class includes a basic technique warm-up, basic hip hop moves, steps that travel across the floor, and combinations. While no previous training is required, classes will use basic body isolations found in other technique classes. 

 

Dress Code

Tennis shoes required. We recommend bringing separate shoes than the ones you walk in with. Baggy clothes are OK. No color preference.

Competition Team Rehearsals : Competition team members will learn the value of hard work, discipline, leadership and so much more. Members will learn from top industry choreographers and attend local competitions. There are additional costs for entry fees, costumes, and rehearsals.
